The Santana West Café is a brand-new amenity space located on the ground floor of Pivot’s new San Jose headquarters. Designed as a shared resource for all building tenants, visitors, and the surrounding Santana Row community, the café serves as both a daily hospitality hub and a flexible event venue. Every element of the space is modern, movable, and adaptable, supporting shifting work modes and fostering connection.
Client Federal Realty and architect AP+I envisioned a community-driven space that encourages gathering, collaboration, and relaxation. Pivot supported this vision by curating an elevated environment that also functions as an extension of its showroom—a welcoming destination for clients and partners.
Core spaces include a coffee bar, an open dining lounge with integrated work postures, and a specialty podcast room featuring a cozy sofa and backlit bookcase that create a calm, creative atmosphere. The dining space is designed for multiple uses, with mesh curtains that allow areas to be sectioned off for different group sizes, while furniture and layouts support quick transitions from café to event venue. Positioned as the centerpiece among other building amenities, the café completes a ground-floor offering showcasing a large training room, fitness center (accessorized by Pivot), massage chairs, and a golf simulator.
The overall aesthetic is both warm and inviting, with neutral tones accented by deep greens, gray velvets, and rich faux leathers. Biophilic elements, natural stone, and wood veneers introduce texture and warmth, while woven wall hangings and decorative fixtures add hospitality-driven character. A mix of light and dark tones creates visual contrast throughout the open, modern space.
Pivot prioritized sourcing from trusted vendor partners, featuring brands such as Herman Miller, DWR, Muuto, OFS, Andreu World, Arper, Stylex, Martin Brattrud, Keilhauer, Bernhardt, Terra Amico, RH Contract, Gus Modern, and Source International.
