Pivot collaborated with Sumitomo during their relocation to a higher floor for expanded space and better views. The design concept was inspired by LA’s iconic beaches, incorporating a palette of ocean blues, sun-washed neutrals, and pops of bright color. The layout is intentionally open to maximize natural light and panoramic views, with abundant greenery throughout to enhance the fresh, coastal feel.
This project marked one of Pivot’s first collaborations with Gebesa, whose high-quality workstations and conference tables were selected to support the client’s emphasis on video conferencing and collaborative work. The furniture layout prioritized open collaboration zones, huddle rooms for virtual meetings, and a single private executive office—striking a balance between openness and functionality.
Previously, the office had a more traditional, closed-off layout. The transformation into a light, open, and modern workspace was met with enthusiasm—especially the new workstations and collaborative zones.
The space serves as a regional satellite office for employees visiting from Japan, making it a regional hub that reflects both the beauty and culture of LA. The lounge, reception, and conference areas were designed to be both welcoming and efficient, with Muuto sofas providing a modern contrast to the beachy tones.
