DPR Construction’s Silicon Valley offices reimagine how a construction company operates by bringing traditionally separate teams, including craft labor, prefabrication, and office staff, together under one roof. The layout is intentionally inclusive to promote interaction and equity across roles. A large portion of the building is dedicated to open office environments, complemented by a substantial prefabrication lab designed for consistent, weather-independent production. This design supports efficiency and collaboration while reflecting the client’s goal of breaking down silos within the organization.

The interior design embraces a light-filled, open aesthetic that highlights the architecture itself. Pivot leaned into a more industrial aesthetic to complement the architecture and echo the mission of the contractor and its on-site fabrication facility. Furniture selections were intentionally simplified to complement the architecture and natural light. Expansive windows, high ceilings, and a blue, white, and black color palette complement raw and natural finishes such as exposed concrete and wood. This space was unique in that the furniture solutions were almost entirely MillerKnoll.

The space supports a wide range of work styles and interactions. Spaces include open work areas, private offices, meeting rooms, and dedicated training environments, alongside hospitality-driven features such as a welcoming lobby, café, and informal break areas. Communal zones are designed to encourage connection and knowledge sharing, while quieter areas provide focus and flexibility. In addition, an existing tree preserved within the interior reinforces the project’s connection to nature and adds a distinctive focal point within the workplace.

The project reflects a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, achieved through ambitious performance standards including Net Zero Energy, LEED Gold, WELL Gold, and Net Zero Carbon.
