TMDA, GCI and Pivot teamed up with this client for a complete overhaul of their San Francisco offices. Their upper-floor suite in 4 Embarcadero Center boasted spectacular bay views, but also the inherent architectural limitations of a 1970’s building.

The team reimagined the interiors to showcase and celebrate iconic San Francisco. Entirely custom interiors and furnishings include thoughtful details such as locally-forged steel accents, as well as reclaimed old-growth Douglas fir that was used first at the piers during the 1939 Treasure Island World’s Fair. In the open reception area, subtle and elegant natural wood and marble finishes complement the sweeping bay views. Custom designed conference tables and credenzas by Urban Hardwoods feature thoughtfully integrated power and data ports below the beautiful salvaged wood surface.

The client sought to maximize the number of private offices and meeting rooms to accommodate frequent private client meetings and calls. Custom private offices by DFM echo the natural wood finish, and each include a conference table for small meetings, in an efficient use of the space. Open and administrative work areas feature Herman Miller’s Canvas Vista system, which minimizes footprint without compromising comfort. All work points offer height-adjustable worksurfaces and Aeron seating.
