Designing a Better Future: Pivot's 2024–2025 Impact Report
Purpose drives everything we do. Our 2024–2025 Impact Report showcases a year of meaningful progress in sustainability, community engagement, and professional development.
Sustainability at Our Core
Pivot’s sustainability efforts continue to lead the industry. Through the MillerKnoll rePurpose program, we diverted more than 134,000 pounds of furniture from landfills, with more than 13,000 pounds donated to nonprofits.
In addition, our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint includes converting our Northern California fleet to renewable diesel, cutting CO₂ emissions by 215 metric tons—a 75% reduction in greenhouse gases per gallon of fuel.
We also partnered with the Sempervirens Fund, planting 79 redwood trees in memory of loved ones. These trees will absorb an estimated 19,552 metric tons of carbon over their lifetimes. At our La Mirada facility, installing LED lighting saved 69,407 kWh annually, equivalent to removing 258 cars from the road and planting 293 trees.
Giving Back
Pivot’s social sustainability efforts are equally impactful. In 2024, we donated to organizations addressing healthcare, youth development, homelessness, and food insecurity.
Highlights of our charitable support include volunteering and donating to Habitat for Humanity, HomeFirst Services, and First Tee, and employee-driven initiatives like the Matching Gifts Program and volunteer events with Second Harvest and We Care.
We also contributed to educational and cultural programs, including the Foundation for a College Education and ArtPrize, and supported global efforts like Hope in a Box for children in Tijuana.
Championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
DEI remains a top priority. Pivot maintained a 4.2% spend with diverse suppliers and helped five supplemental labor partners achieve minority-owned certification.
We aim to increase our DEI spend annually and ensure 33% of our donations support minority and disadvantaged organizations. Our team achieved a 99% completion rate for diversity training, including sessions led by author Zachary Wood on navigating difficult conversations.
Investing in Professional Engagement
Pivot continues to invest in the architecture and design (A&D) community, contributing over $50,000 annually to organizations like IIDA, CoreNet, and IFMA. Our Pivotal Insights forum series fosters dialogue on critical industry topics, such as seismic safety mandates and PFAS compliance in healthcare design.
None of this would be possible without our team of nearly 200 professionals. From designers and installers to project managers and warehouse staff, our people are the heart of our impact.
As CEO Ken Baugh puts it, “Together, we are creating a brighter, more sustainable future.” At Pivot Interiors, we’re proud to design spaces where people thrive—and to build a world where purpose meets impact.
