A Look Ahead to 2023

A message from Pivot President and CEO Ken Baugh on togetherness, opportunity and achievements to come in 2023.

Pivot SJ 1229

As we begin 2023, I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to you for the past 12 months. Together we have experienced and risen above the challenges of the previous few years, and we have once again had the opportunity to collaborate and do what we do best – create beautiful, functional workspaces.

Togetherness has been a theme at Pivot recently, as we are now seeing more of each other in-person around the office. With so much change in the wake of the previous year and undoubtedly more coming, we have found that we face uncertainty best when we do it together. With constant changes in the industries we serve comes many new opportunities to rethink what workspaces are to people, and how we can best support those who use them. To do this successfully, we must act with agility, a sense of inquisitive exploration, and the knowledge that change often lends great opportunity.

Our team has risen to the challenge of adapting how we design spaces by putting a great deal of thought into our creative process, and finding new innovations and tools to better serve our customers. This past year has marked the completion of several large projects for clients that tailored their spaces to serve the changing needs of hybrid or partially remote, neurodiverse, or geographically distributed employees. In addition to these projects, we have several exciting changes coming to our Santa Clara showroom in the coming months, with an emphasis on varied selections for work settings – from quiet focus areas to meeting and collaboration rooms. We hope that this revamped showroom will serve to guide our clients through the work settings and options that are available to facilitate the best environments for their teams.

We also plan to open a new Los Angeles Design Center in the heart of the LA Arts District in the first quarter of 2023. The showroom has been a labor of love for our team, and we are looking forward to unveiling the new space as a true working design studio. The space will feature products from the expanded MillerKnoll line, as well as a digital and analog creative suite for full collaboration with our customers.

Finally, 2023 marks 50 years in business at Pivot Interiors. Please watch for information over the coming months on how we plan to celebrate Pivot’s 50-year history in the design industry.

In the coming year, I plan to continue the theme of togetherness and celebrate the extraordinary things that happen when our people work as one team. We will keep a steady focus on our people, whether it is celebrating our diversity and individuality, or investing in learning and development. I will also continue to reinforce our mission and vision so that our people can unite under a common purpose for our clients.

Thank you, again, to our people, customers, colleagues and design partners for your ongoing support and for allowing us to design the best workspaces for today and tomorrow.
