FRESH & Local: OHIO Design Tour

Pivot’s creative team was invited to tour OHIO Design’s San Francisco workshop, including a visit to their Creative Clubhouse – an evolving, experiential space currently outfitted as an immersive forest. 

We sat down with David Pierce, founder and owner of OHIO Design, and his talented team in an intimate setting surrounded by gorgeous redwoods and art installations. We learned about OHIO's story and motivations, inspired by a multitude of art, design, and creative endeavors. OHIO is well known for their modern furniture and expertise in crafting durable and beautiful designs in wood and metal.

Under David's visionary direction, OHIO is a multi-faceted creative team - producing not just high quality, locally and responsibly-made, and stunning furniture, but also teaming up with creative influencers to bring positive change to the world through design. David strongly believes in "giving to the givers" – helping those who give will in turn help many more.

OHIO's workshop and Creative Clubhouse embody the same innovative and creative spirit as the OHIO team itself. Every object in their space held meaning and purpose -- a broken television monitor had the potential to be a beautiful coffee table, and scraps found on the sidewalk could easily be re-purposed for sound insulation in their space.

Our visit to OHIO Design was truly inspirational, and we are excited to see what new design challenges and collaborations the team will pursue next!
