FRESH Perspectives: NeoCon 2018

NeoCon 2018 Top Trends Pivot Interiors - Maddy Raman Edward Woodill

2018 marked NeoCon’s 50th anniversary, and a handful of new partnerships helped to kick off this year’s event. The Merchandise Mart was filled with buzz from the various announcements, and as expected inspiration was found at every turn. This year, Pivot combined forces with six of our fantastic A+D partners across California to curate photos and identify trends that captured this year’s event and demonstrated the best in show. We are inspired by their selection and hope you are too!

The Biophilia trend made a huge design statement this year at NeoCon! We saw many unique ways of utilizing greenery & plant accessories to define and elevate spaces. With added wellness benefits, we're expecting this trend to continue growing.

Many of the product offerings we saw this year demonstrate the ease with which end-users can adjust their workplace settings -- training tables with integrated battery packs to reconfigure rooms seamlessly, stack-able white boards, and upholstery that can be installed on-site are just a few examples that we saw.

NeoCon 2018 Trend Still Loving Velvet by DES Architects + Engineers - Caitlin Conlin

Velvet was a huge trend we saw last year at ICFF & NeoCon, and we are still loving it for 2018! This textural element was seen all across NeoCon, featured with mixed materials, unique prints, and in a variety of rich hues to make a bold statement.

Neocon 2018 Trend Work Smart Technology by Wolcott - Chao Dou

It's no surprise that technology falls into one of our top trends from NeoCon! While our desks aren't speaking to us just yet, we learned about integrated systems that can remind us when to move & have the ability to remember our posture preferences. On a larger scale, the sensors, data analysis, and real-time space usage feedback can help enhance workplace performance & space utilization.

NeoCon 2018 Trend Au Naturel Natural Materials by AC Martin - Michelle Sterling

We loved seeing the comeback of natural materials, such as live edge wood tables & cane as standard options. These organic finishes add a residential feel & inviting warmth to any space, while still looking modern & fresh.
