In the early stages of planning for our outdoor pop-up show, we decided on the theme “Moroccan Nights” and began pulling inspiration from some of our favorite travel, furniture, and interior design magazines and blogs. Our goal was to blend the intricate and decorative nature of Moroccan design with the clean and minimalist nature of modern day furniture.

Color, one of the focal points of Moroccan design, was also central to curating the vignettes for our pop-up. We drew inspiration for our color palette from a sunset over the ocean -- shades of blue and green, the shimmer of gold and bronze blended with deep orange and red tones. The layering of lanterns, throw pillows, and area rugs in Moroccan design was also a direct influence on our own use of these accessories to bring the furniture and space to life. The final element of bringing the “outdoors in” was the addition of exotic and oversized plants like the Blue Palms and Bamboos we chose for our space.

As the furniture vignettes began coming together, we decided to transition into a more international theme, which allowed for both California-based manufacturers as well vendors from France, Spain and the Philippines to all be represented in our space.

Marrakesh to Malibu was a curated journey inside a space transformed by furniture, accessories, lighting, greenery, and music to truly create an office oasis.
