Pivot recently hosted an inspiring fireside chat with Maynard Webb, well-known Silicon Valley entrepreneur, investor and author of Dear Founder!
We were delighted to invite Maynard Webb to our Santa Clara showroom for a thought-provoking evening to discuss his bestseller, Dear Founder: Letters of Advice for Anyone who Leads, Manages, or Wants to Start a Business. In this latest book, Maynard shares his wise, practical, and valuable advice to founders, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.
Our discussion was moderated by James Barrese, technology advisor, investor, and former CTO of PayPal. James is a longtime colleague and friend of Maynard's and the two spent a little time touring our space, and having fun testing out some of Pivot's products. They began preparing for the evening in our Framery Q2 Booth, then did a quick warm-up in our Magis Spun Chair.
As we kicked off the fireside chat, the conversation between James and Maynard set a casual and relaxed tone for the evening. Maynard and James reflected upon a few of their challenging moments, as well as their successes from their early days at eBay and PayPal. Everyone was inspired and engaged as Maynard shared a few of his personal and humbling experiences that led to his success today.
Our audience was a lively mix of tech employees, entrepreneurs, engineers, investors, as well as a few small business owners. The Q&A session created an interactive discussion where the audience members were able to ask Maynard some great questions. After the fireside chat, Maynard graciously spent time socializing, taking photos and signing books. It was a highly engaging event, and everyone left feeling inspired and optimistic.
I want to sincerely thank both Maynard and James for making our event fun, memorable and being so generous with their time. I hope everyone enjoyed this special event. We invite you to come back again for a future event and want to wish you a happy holiday season!
